More than four and a half years ago, Gwenda started making artisanal, custom-made mats from her kitchen table in Orange, NSW to fill her flair for creativity. 

Little did Gwenda know, she was on the cusp of something that would become much more greater than just a hobby! 

From there, a love of bees brought inspiration  and Busy Bee Creative Hive was born. An online shop ran through social media, specialising in connecting clients with any and all ideas to be designed onto hand-painted mats. 

Through the support of clients across the region, nationally ( and even internationally!) this kitchen startup business was able to transform into something much larger - so much so, there was no longer enough room to store everything in the house! 

A move to Millthorpe saw the business become bricks & mortar, with mats adorning the walls and a loving, vibrant village community to embrace. 

Slowly, Gwenda merged her passion for creativity with another love of hers… shopping! Soon 5a Pym Street, Millthorpe became more than ‘just mats’ with the addition of fashion, homewares and gifts. 

Welcome to Hive Grove. 

Taking a slice of new & old, the ‘Hive’ represents an ode to Busy Bee Creative Hive and ‘Grove’ is Gwenda’s way of paying homage to the wonderful history of Millthorpe Village - formerly known as ‘Spring Grove’.
